Rather than run in the warm weather, Jesse (smartly) chose to enjoy a day on the lake.
![]() Daniel and Jesse had been on the race committee for this event the previous couple years and Jesse had a third place finish in 2013 with a PR of 2:52:41. Daniel decided to race the course, one that he had completed many 20+ mile training runs on over the past couple years. Daniel thought that his increase in training and practice running the trail would have resulted in a PR; however, the head-wind, warm weather, and potty breaks played a role in falling short of goal. Despite being the disappointed by the slower (than hoped) time, Daniel enjoyed a nice run on a beautiful day! Rather than run in the warm weather, Jesse (smartly) chose to enjoy a day on the lake.

The race that Daniel started in 2016 returned for its second year. The new race director did an excellent job continuing this event for a wonderful cause. Daniel won the race, but more importantly, he was able to connect with so many wonderful people that have overcome some very difficult obstacles!
Avery ran the Blend Fit 1K and didn't even break a sweat! Daniel ran the Earth Day 1/2 Marathon as part of his training for the Lake Wobegon Trail Marathon. Despite living in St. Cloud for 8 years, this was Daniel's first time running this event. It was a beautiful day and actually became a little warm for an April race. Daniel finished in 8th place with a time of 1:24:16.
Daniel returned to Grandma's for the second year in a row.
![]() After an extended hiatus, we once again join the crazy circus known as Mainly Marathons for their Independence Series. We were joined by two spectacular supporters, Mom and Katie. We were able to reconnect with many familiar faces, along with meeting a whole new cast of crazy characters! We were able to check-off five more states in our quest of running all 50 states, including Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. In addition to the running, we were able to enjoy a kangaroo burger, sightsee on Daniel Boone's homestead, and see a few State Parks! ![]() Daniel directed his first race, which was a fundraiser for the SCSU Recovery Community. The race hosted about 140 registered runners/walkers and raised over $7,500! Jesse came in 3rd place with a time of 19:49. Many of our friends and family members were in attendance including the Hendrickson's (Kerri, Christian, and Allie), Rueckert's (Mom, Dad, Katie, Doug, and Bonita), Monroe's (Randy, Claire, Cullen, Patch, and CJ), Tishy, and McCann (2nd place with 18:46)!
