Daniel and Jesse had been on the race committee for this event the previous couple years and Jesse had a third place finish in 2013 with a PR of 2:52:41. Daniel decided to race the course, one that he had completed many 20+ mile training runs on over the past couple years. Daniel thought that his increase in training and practice running the trail would have resulted in a PR; however, the head-wind, warm weather, and potty breaks played a role in falling short of goal. Despite being the disappointed by the slower (than hoped) time, Daniel enjoyed a nice run on a beautiful day!

Rather than run in the warm weather, Jesse (smartly) chose to enjoy a day on the lake.

<![CDATA[Run for Recovery 5K]]>Sat, 29 Apr 2017 07:00:00 GMThttp://minnesotabrothers.com/roaming-runners/run-for-recovery-5k5997026The race that Daniel started in 2016 returned for its second year. The new race director did an excellent job continuing this event for a wonderful cause. Daniel won the race, but more importantly, he was able to connect with so many wonderful people that have overcome some very difficult obstacles!

Avery ran the Blend Fit 1K and didn't even break a sweat!]]>

Las Vegas Marathon 2016
Daniel and McCann
Daniel and Jesse McCann returned for yet another Las Vegas Marathon (Daniel's 5th, McCann's 3rd). McCann displayed the importance of training, which allowed him to scorch the course; whereas, Daniel...um, finished. It was another great trip!

We'll look forward to the rest of the crew joining in on the 2017 edition of the Las Vegas Marathon!

Daniel ran the Eugene Curnow Marathon from Duluth to Carlton, along a challenging yet fun course. Daniel enjoyed the scenic course so much that he decided to extend the race by a handful of minutes by relaxing (also known as napping) on a bench near a raging waterfall. This is definitely a race to be ran again!

Running Wild Trail Run
Daniel
Daniel ran a short, yet challenging course in the scenic Maplewood State Park with the Running Wild Trail Run. The race was a 7K that went up and down many hills on a singletrack trail. Daniel was cheered on by an amazing crew consisting of Mom, Allie, and Saraya - much appreciated!

After an extended hiatus, we once again join the crazy circus known as Mainly Marathons for their Independence Series. We were joined by two spectacular supporters, Mom and Katie. We were able to reconnect with many familiar faces, along with meeting a whole new cast of crazy characters! We were able to check-off five more states in our quest of running all 50 states, including Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. In addition to the running, we were able to enjoy a kangaroo burger, sightsee on Daniel Boone's homestead, and see a few State Parks!

Samantha and the girls
Daniel, Samantha, and Saraya ran the St. Cloud YMCA's Wishbone 5K. This was Saraya's first plain ol' 5K, as she's a veteran of obstacle courses and mud runs. It was one of the the first cold days of the fall, temperatures dropped to below freezing and the wind chill made it seem even colder. Daniel and the girls persevered and enjoyed the nice family event. Avery and Brynnlee also joined in on the festivities with Avery blazing through the kid's 1K and Brynnlee cheering on all the runners!
